May 10th, 2024 – In honor of Mother’s Day weekend, we are offering a tour focusing on the lives and legacies of ten remarkable women who lived at Sotterley over the course of 300 years. Learn about the lives of the women of Sotterley including Rebecca Bowles, Elsa Bond, Mabel Ingalls, and Agnes Kane Callum. We will hear about the lives of women from the 18th century, 19th, and 20th centuries. We will tell these women’s stories and explore how women’s roles in marriage, birth, family differed depending on their era and status. Along the way we will discover the role that women have played in preserving the history of the site. A reception with Q & A will follow the tour.

Recommended for ages 16 & older. Walking and standing required, please note the historic house is not ADA compliant.

Advance reservations required – please no walk-ins. Limited to 15 people per tour.
