Spring Break Activities
April 6, 2023 @ 10:30 am - 12:00 pm
Historic Sotterley is once again hosting daily kids activities during Spring Break week to keep our community’s young minds active and engaged! There will be new activities each day running from 10:30 am to noon, which you can see below:
Monday– Explore how aircraft fly! Meet our aircraft expert and learn about how planes and jets soar above the clouds. Then test your skills by building paper airplanes and launching them to see how far they’ll go!
Tuesday– Little Hands Can Make a Big Impact! Join us for a morning of dirt filled fun planting vegetable seeds and seedlings. Later this year, the produce raised will be harvested and ndonated to local food pantries and soup kitchens. There will also be a mini Scales and Tails event brought to us by Park Ranger Sam Behrens, who will be bringing a couple friends to meet everyone!
Wednesday– How does our garden grow? With your help! Day 2 of planting vegetables that will be donated to help supply people in need with healthy vegetables.
Thursday– Let’s rock-n-roll! Eggs may be a little pricey this Easter but local Girl Scouts have found an alternative to decorate and hide on the grounds at Sotterley- rocks. Come and decorate a rock that you can take home or hide in the gardens and trails of Sotterley!
Friday– Once Upon A Time in the Garden is back! The St. Mary’s County Public Library will be on site leading a storytime in the garden.
Check in for each day’s events will be between 10:00 am and 10:30 am near the Visitor Center. Activities are included with our $5/person grounds fee. Members are free.
We are offering a special $55 Family Pass for the week of Spring Break so you and your family can get into all of our activities for the week for one simple payment.
