Calling all helping hands! The end of the year can be an incredibly stressful time for families in need, and Historic Sotterley is no stranger to the battle against food insecurity in Southern Maryland. We’re asking for your help with donations of non-perishable food items so we can support our local food pantries and soup kitchens through the difficult holiday season.

Donations are being accepted through the end of 2025 in a collection bin outside our Visitor Center. We are looking for non-perishable food items only. Please no expired items or items in glass containers.

All donations will be distributed to the network of local food pantries and soup kitchens that we support year-round through our Growing for Good program.

If you need need help identifying good items to donate, we have provided a PDF at the link below. This list is not exhaustive and we’ll happily accept other staple items you may think of.
