The 18th Century Manor House doorways may not accommodate all wheelchairs or walkers in some rooms of the house. SUMMARY:Day of Unity and Healing - Through Descendant Eyes
DESCRIPTION:August 22\, 2026 – In 2026\, the Day of Unity and Healing invites our community to gather Through Descendant Eyes — to see clearly the histories we have inherited\, the truths we must courageously face\, and the future we are called to shape together. \nThis year’s theme centers descendants — those who carry memory in their bodies\, stories in their bloodlines\, and responsibility in the present moment. Through descendant eyes\, we honor the courage it takes to remember honestly\, the commitment required to pursue repair\, and the collective call to unity that moves us from acknowledgment to action. \nThe day’s events will include speakers\, presentations\, exhibits\, music\, food\, family-friendly games\, and more. The National Park Service Mobile Museum will also be joining us to celebrate the day. \nA full schedule of events will be coming soon.  \nExperience History: \n\nOpen House Tours\nBlacksmith Demonstration\nWood-working Demonstration\nOyster Crushing Demonstration\n\nKnott House Exhibits: \n\nSotterley Descendant Photo Exhibit\nJohn Hanson Briscoe\, Agnes Kane Callum\, and Mabel Satterlee Ingalls Exhibit\nQuilting Workshop with Dr. John M.E.
